OPEI Trade Mission to Thailand and Vietnam yields 100% Success Rate for participants!

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

As we are looking to plan future trade missions, we wanted to highlight the success rate of companies that participated on our trip to Thailand and Vietnam last year!

Pennsylvania Experience

Four Pennsylvania companies participated in the OPEI trade mission to Thailand and Vietnam in March of 2019. We are pleased to report a 100% success rate with all four Pennsylvania companies signing sales contracts and/or forming business partnerships resulting directly out of the trade mission!

Betts Industries, Inc. made a sale prior to leaving the U.S. to embark on the mission trip! In preparation, Jeff Uber had diligently reached out to all of the meeting prospects to announce his arrival and in return received an immediate order, followed by additional requests for prototypes from another customer, and expected orders from a third and fourth prospect. Ron Jones Hardwood Sales, Inc., Steve Jones announced export sales with two full container loads shipped to Vietnam, and Network Forest Products, LLC, Darin Williamson received a purchase order for a trial container of white oak logs to Vietnam, as well. Dalko Resources, Inc., Joe Joseph met his objectives by forming reliable business partnerships in both Thailand and Vietnam.

The mission was led by Dorte Heffernan, International Trade Manager with the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission and Mousa Kassis, Director of the Ohio Small Business Development Center Export Assistance Network at Youngstown State University.

Testimonial

"The trade mission was an essential part of Dalko’s continued push to be a premier door to door provider for international importing and exporting. The Pa Northwest Commission was instrumental in helping us take a big leap forward in the Vietnam and Thailand markets. Dorte and Hilary, along with their overseas counterparts, did an outstanding job creating opportunities for Dalko to develop key relationships with overseas partners. These critical relationships have expanded Dalko’s capabilities and consequently enhanced many of our customers’ opportunities who are doing business in those countries.”
